Do I need a referral from my doctor to visit an osteopath?
No, it is not necessary to be referred by your GP, osteopaths are qualified to diagnose as well as treat patients. If your osteopath finds anything that would be better treated by your GP or other healthcare professional, they will write a letter of referral for you.
